I find that not only are custom barrels made from premium stock (Douglas, PacNor, etc..) more accurate but more consistent and easier to clean. They tend to shoot everything well and the gunsmith installation pretty much guarantees the crown and forcing cone will be perfect and there won't be a constriction at the threads.

Leaning this way hard. I have another pristine 5.5" Flattop and it has a significant constriction at the threads. Unacceptable!
