S&W 686 some models have the Hillary Hole. Model 19 and J-Frames don’t have the Hillary Hole I believe…it may not be a deal breaker for ya.
Ruger makes guns in batches....If they ain't making a particular batch at the time, they don't have any to send. I've seen the same thing before when trying to order a Vaquero and later with the Mini-14. I'm sure it goes for other models too.I think it's strange that they can't provide a replacement from stock on hand. I wonder what the issue would be with a brand new in the box revolver that it can't be repaired.
I know they offered a new replacement or a check but I was just curious about the problem
What was funny, you've never removed a barrel from a revolver? Never zeroed a fixed sight gun? This was one of them.
I honestly thought you were joking. What was funny, you've never removed a barrel from a revolver? Never zeroed a fixed sight gun?
Now that sounds good!!See if Ruger can hook you up with an 8 shot .357 Redhawk. Those are really nice.
You don't but a lot of the complaints are just turned a tad too far in the frame where the front sight is noticeably clocked past 12:00. That is what I was referring to, not your gun.I honestly thought you were joking.
How are you going to repair an improperly machined frame or barrel with a vise and a stick?
Got it. I agree. It wasn’t my gun, by the way.You don't but a lot of the complaints are just turned a tad too far in the frame where the front sight is noticeably clocked past 12:00. That is what I was referring to, not your gun.

There are MANY brand new GP100's out there. Use AmmoSeek.com GUNS tab and find them. And picking any one of them is not really any different than if Ruger took one off the shelf and sent to you.I thought about looking for a replacement GP100 on line but I'm figuring there for sale on those gun sights because people dumped them for issues they had with them see this way to often.I have learned that threw experience.
As an FFL I can tell you that there are very few SP101 or GP100 models available from any distributors. They have GP100 Match Champion and SP101 in 2.25" 38 Spcl. This tells me that Ruger is more than likely not making them at this time. I am not sure what is going on with them but there are many models of Ruger firearms that are not available. Not in stock.A couple questions if I may
What were the initial problems you sent it back for?
Did you talk to anyone there as to why GP or SP aren’t available to you? Seems to me you should be priority 1 and cant image there aren’t any available. You’d think they would stock on hand for situations such as this at the least, odd.
Good luck to you getting it addressed to your satisfaction.
Was the barrel cross threaded, or the frame drilled off center?v

"That’s what a Dear John letter looks like". There are numerous types of DJ letters. I got one in 1969.So…. That’s what a Dear John letter looks like…![]()
I don’t know. It wasn’t returned to Ruger and they told him it was unrepairable. I suspect the frame was drilled and/or tapped incorrectly. Was the barrel cross threaded, or the frame drilled off center?v
Redhawk?i purchased a new GP100 had issues right out of the box, sent back to ruger for repairs.
Just received E-Mail from Ruger its a no go unrepairable.
Really like the gun Ruger said i couldnt re-order a GP100 or SP101they are not available at this time.
Any good options instead of the GP100 or SP101 in 357 ?
If Bushnell will tell you what thread size / thread pitch / thread class & length, you could probably get one from McMaster-Carr, or somewhere that carries microscope thread hardware. If it's a "special / proprietary" thread you're SOL, I'm afraid.I have a Bushnell Banner 3x9x32 rifle scope, made in 1974 by Bausch & Lomb, in Japan.
The screw that holds the power adjustment ring became loose
I called Bushnell and gave them the serial number of the scope, and they sent me a brand new 3x9x40 scope no charge.
Fantastic customer service and lifetime warranty.
I still have the old Banner scope that "could" be fixed with a new locking screw. Bushnell said they no longer have repair parts for a scope that old.
So I'm going to the hardware store and see if I can modify a screw to work.
