Are you aware there is a new strip being built just south of Ennis on I-45?

I wasn't. There's a track not far from here but it has no really big events anymore.

Haven't been for a while. Closest to me is Maple Grove. Have to check the schedule. Pretty much gave up on NASCAR.

Cecil county dragway and Budds Creek have some good races...Pro Mods and other. I went to Maple Grove in '93 to the big race.

Never even thought of Cecil County. Shoot, that is only about 15 minutes away. The Lucas Oil NE Divisional will be there on August 17-19. I went to Budds Creek one time to race my own car. Their lay-out sucks. Won't go back. Atco in NJ is a well run track and about 1:30 from me. I see they will be running there on August 3-5.

Raceway Park is across from the industrial park where I work.

Parking lot at the raceway was filling up fast when I left work today around 3PM.

When the "big boys" are running you can hear them from the job site.

Love that sound.

I want to go attend a "Pre 1967 NHRA rules book" race somewhere. That looks like fun.
These days there are only a few people who can even be competitive in top Fuel and Funny Cars.
Give me old school Gassers, Altered Fuel & alcohol and lots of cool stock and super stock racing.
It is just more fun to me

In the early 70's my wife (then girlfriend) and I would go to New England Dragway whenever Jungle Jim (and Jungle Pam) were in town. Great memories.

Maple Grove is my favorite!
It might be the setting, the surrounding hills and the echoes.
Nothing like smelling the nitro and feeling the vibrations in the pits.

I used to race my 56 chevy in the early 70's at a track in Ozark,Mo.
I think the races were fixed there though.Everybody kept beating me! 8)
