Neat lil Single Six

Picked up this little Single Six convertible today. Its a "50 years of single six" commemorative. Fixed sight, 4 5/8" 22 lr/mag. Couple blemishes on the ERH and the grips. Some wear on muzzle and at rear sight. Otherwise like new. Its a neat lil revolver. I love the fixed sight guns. I must say id rather it be a 32 H&R mag but i couldnt complain. Even came with the red box. Kinda neat. Anyone got any numbers? This is the first i've ever seen like it.

Is this they call a Vaquerito?

Nice catch Joe! Vaquerito was used by Ruger in marketing the fixed sight 32 mags, but as far as I'm concerned it's a 22 Vaquerito!

Cocobolo wood grips.

23,000 made but only one duplicate; serial number starts with a D.

Its a neat lil gun. Hate the grips are boogered. May strip the finish and oil em.

An interesting feature of these is that Ruger, for some inexplicable reason, chose to use the early Bearcat grooved-topstrap type rear sight instead of the proper windage-adjustable version actually used on the original Single-Sixes.

That said, I think these are a neat variation, particularly when paired with a "matching" Bearcat.

yea i have my eye on a bearcat i really want! but thanks to hail storms and horses, i can not spend the extra money! haha
