My wife thinks she is funny. The other day we had been sitting in the living room, her browsing her Chromebook, me on my laptop. Out of the blue she asked me what my favorite gun is. I answered, "For what purpose?" She died laughing. She said if you had to ask that you own too many guns. I asked her if she would try to frame a house with a tack hammer. I am a complete lightweight as far as how many guns I own though I do pretty much have what I need.

Several years ago my wife an I were headed somewhere. She was complaining about not having black slippers. I’m thinking “Hold on just a minute.” I got to digging in her closet and found 12 pair of black slippers! Stupid me didn’t realize none of them were the correct style. I don’t own 12 pair of shoes, let alone 12 pair of one color. I guess I’ll keep her.

I could tell stories that NO ONE wants to hear.
My latest purchase was a dozen Glock mags (I don't own a Glock but these are for my AR9 PDW). I was asked what I intended to do with robin egg blue and "Barnie" purple magazines but my very logical explanation of how I wanted to use a black marker to label the ammo type on the magazines was wasted words.

I've always been taught the correct answer to "How many guns do you own?" is "none of your business." I suppose some wives might find that rude. Luckily mine doesn't really take much of an interest in the exact number.

Guess, I am lucky , MY wife is ( was?) the "collector" and owns most ALL the guns,,,,,,,,what, Me worry ??

Yes, I tried to collect, and did display a couple times for Rugers and I sold BOTH displays, COMPLETELY except for 2 guns....... :?

To twist this up ever so slightly...

I used to have a fishing pole fetish. I still have many of the most used fishing poles hanging horizontally on my garage ceiling. One time I bought a new fishing pole, hung it with all the rest, and my Wife came home, looked up, and declared, "you have a new fishing pole".

How on earth could she have ever known?

Guns are easier. She never looks in my safe. But she does notice that the UPS man brings me a lot of ammo.

There's a whole buncha truth there.

Here we both came with our own collections and whenever he buys a new one I just ask what kind/caliber did you get me? If I am generous I tell hopefully he got something for himself also, like I really care!

WAYNO,
You still use any of those? I'm putting together a week to ten day hiking/camping/fishing trip over your way, on Eagle Creek, around the first of next month. I'm going after some Chinook or Coho on light tackle. Should be a hoot. Any interest? It'll be slow, short distance day hikes, (fishing hole to fishing hole. My knees are shot too.) early camp setup, lots of fishing. How's the water level on your side of the hill? Things are getting pretty dry over here.

If someone asked my wife "how many guns does your husband own?" she would answer "I have no idea". I own so few guns that to even call it a collection is being too generous, but I have what I need and want. I suggest that if a stranger should ask you how many guns you own that you use one of these two responses: "now why in the world would you ask me such a question?", or "well bless your heart".
