My son appears to have acquired a taste for old and vintage guns. He's shot a Remington pump .22 and a couple other older guns, but when he saw me shoot my Spanish Remington Rolling Block he was hooked but he isn't old or big enough to shoot the gun in .43 Spanish.
Not that long ago he asked if the Rolling Block ever came in .22 LR, I told him they did but that they tend to be an expensive gun in good shape. Recently though I found one, it had been reblued and it needed a little work, but for the price of $150 I couldn't pass it up.
I got it home, cleaned it and tinkered with it to get the action working better, it needs a new mainspring so it's on order right now.
I took it out the other day and it shoots fairly well, especially with CCI standard velocity ammo. Today I took my son out with it and he loved it, it needs to trigger work but it shoots ok for what it is, and I can tell you I do plan on taking this gun out to hunt squirrels with this year too.
