Last month, I put in an order for the black SR9c. Today, the LGS called me up and said it was in. Now my fullsize SR9 has a brother! :D

Next to its bigger brother.

Raminator - The 9c's are certainly fine looking guns. Great pics of your new purchase as well.

Curious about what appears to be some discoloration or something on the underside of the trigger gaurd that appears in some pictures. Is there really some color difference in the glass filled nylon on the bottom of the gaurd compared to the rest of the frame? If so, why is it there?

The same glass filed nylon frame is used on the SR9, but my OD green version doesn't show any difference in color on the bottom of the trigger guard.

Thanks;

John

There's not discoloration. The camera flash made the frame glare a little bit.

When I get it all cleaned up, I'm going to take some better quality photos with my wife's SLR and a tripod.

I've had mine on order since 6/25. I can hardly wait, and yes, I know there are many on Gunbroker but I want to support my local dealer. He has treated me very well in the past.

You and me, man. My LGS has sold me about 5 guns this last year and as long as they treat me right, I want to keep supporting them locally. Mine was on order since late June as well. I told them that I know I could buy it immediately elsewhere, but since they have done such a good job taking care of me and ordering exactly what I want, I will continue to give them my business. Their prices aren't bad either.

What's that metal plate/door on the left side of the frame? I've never seen anything like that before.

That is the takedown pin.

So. While I've got your ear...
I do not fancy myself as a plastic-wondernine kind of person. But I bought one of these SR9's, anyway. My SR9 continues to function perfectly, is easy to shoot, is easy to maintain, and it's just plain got zero issues.

WAYNO.

Probably saved yourself some aggravation by waiting until now to buy one. My SR9c arrived in March and it was a bugger, for both me and Ruger Service, to clear up. Two trips there and now it runs fine. About 600 rounds now, the last 250 have run fine since I got it back.
WWB and Fed Champions go thru really nice.
I did spend a bit of time talking with Josh Hearne and his instructions (stickies) and had some fun and learned some things in the process.
