Well this "ain't" been my year. I got a Dillon square deal B, waited 3 or 4 weeks. I got half my order. 3 more weeks I got the rest of the order. I got it all set up, watched the DVD. Great! The primers jammed. I fixed it! The shellplate would'nt rotate. Called Dillon, after 2 hours of trying "fixes, I was told to pack it up and FedEx would pick it up. Dillon has great CS. Good Shooting! Its a crazy time right now. I am afraid most manufactures are rushing product to market. Your frustration over the wait and not being able to use your machine is understandable. Don't worry about Dillon though, what ever is wrong will be fixed.

Howdy! BHK here with an update! I got my SBD back from Dillon repair. I loaded some ammo and the old 41 shoots good. It was exactly 3 weeks to the day that I got my machine sent and returned. WOW! BHK

Just wondering, and for my own info. Do you have any experience reloading with another press or is this your first go at it?

I'm also now trying to upgrade to a progressive press & have decided to go with the Dillon RL 550B after good reviews from folks that use them & lots of video about them on Youtube. Some dealers here in Canada offer them with no conversion kit for almost $500. & another dealer had them for less with one conversion kit,.....go figure! The dealer with the big price has stock, the other doesn't, so I will soldier on with my single stage for awhile yet.....

I figure I've got about or hope to, have another 20-25 yrs to live so I will wait some more to get what I NEED!

Have yourselves a great day folks, life is fun! 8)

Ruffbird: Just a quick suggestion if I may. Why not check out EBay for a used machine? You can't wear out these machines and Dillon would replace any broken parts. Hopefully it wouldn't be a hassle shipping from the States to Canada. I fI can help you in any way, holler, from an owner of 2 550B's and a 650XL.

I have loaded on a single stage press for 30 years plus. This my first progressive of my own. I have helped friends load their ammo and mine for helping. I still have my old Lyman single stage Orange crusher. I paid $22 for my case trimmer. I chose the Square Deal B because I have rifle loading equipment, and I just need pistol loading equip. I can go as fast as I want and make excellent quality ammo.

I ordered my Square Deal B form Brian Enos's web site, and got my press in 3 weeks. Had to send it back for repair. Dillon paid shipping both ways. 3 weeks and I'm loading, now! BHK

Bearcat, I bought my Dillon over 25 years ago. Converted it to a 550B when the kits became available. Over the years, I have loaded 18 different calibers on my 550B. I own 2 and one is set up for small primers and the other for large. Last year I did buy a 650XL, but that press is dedicated for 45 ACP and 10MM only. I have had little mechanical trouble with all three, and the trouble I've had has been very minor. If you get a 550B and have it up and running, consider a Dillon spare parts kit. It's worth it's weight in gold if you have a breakage. :)

Thanks for your words of encouragement & experiences with the Dillon products. I was in touch with a dealer in Alberta & he is going to put me on his list. I should have the 550 hopefully before x-mas.

You guys down there in the US. need to leave some of the good stuff for us poor Canucks....

Oh well it's not all bad, I was able to purchase a set of lightly used Dillon dies & the conversion kit to load .32 pistol cartridges..... It's like buying the motor & not having a boat.

It is fun chasing stuff you can't seem to find.... :)
Gotta stay away from those video's on Dillon stuff. I'm pumped about it! :D
