Earlier I asked for, and received some excellent feedback on which MK II to purchase. Thanks to all of you who provided valuable advice. I missed out on a very nice MK II Govt Model in blue for $299, but w/out case, manual or extras. Below is my purchase, a MK II Competition Model, complete(minus orginal grips) in orginal case for $375 OTD. S/N makes it a 2000 mfg. I love that "Made In America" sticker. It just may become my new avatar. If anyone has orginal grips for this model, I'd be interested in buying. Now I'm ready for the spring rimfire league. It will also look good next to the MK I that I purchased back in the late 60's.

Congrats on a fine gun. I bought one of those when they first came out. I'd hate to know how many rounds have been fired by mine. You got it for a fair price,, and I'd not hesitate to own another one if it came along at a good price.
Excellent shooters!

Ruger still has the grips your KMK678GC would have come with on their website..
The selling price is $56.71 there..

Hopefully you'll be able to come across a set at a better price than these, Also Lett Grips that made these for Ruger is now "Out of Business"
These are also available in Left Handed as an option for southpaws but most/all I've ever seen had the RH grip on them as they shipped.

Congrats on the MMKII Target..
I had one that I bought in 1999 that I shot over a brick a week threw for almost 5-6 years straight, That's over 150,000 rounds & still shot great when I traded it a buddy of mine..
It did break an extractor & firing pin while I had it that Ruger sent me replacements for for FREE with just a phone call..
Enjoy it & Shoot it OFTEN..

Thanks guys, especially for the link for the grips. Darn those grips look good. Gotta get a pair.

I thought the same thing, but being there 2000 year models they should also have the red background emblems just like the grips in the picture have..
On the one I had I never mounted the scope mount or the rings & installed a Hi-Viz front sight & a set of Hogue thumb rest grips & bought 4-5 extra magazines..
Enjoy!!

Great looking pistol..... :)

I know you'll probably want the original Ruger grips, but here's another option.
