My BlackHawk

[Arisin' Wind]

I've had this Blackhawk for a few years and realized I've never taken some decent pictures of it. It's a New Model 45 made in the first month of production - or thereabouts. It has a recessed cylinder. I had one of these in the early 70's but it disappeared during my divorce. When I saw this one I thought "why not?"

My very first Ruger was a "pre-warning" NM .45, very similar to yours.

It's the "lower", or, New Model, in this pic.

Once I got the early designed cylinder throats enlarged, it became a favorite shooter. Oh, sure, I had to monkey around a bit and changed the hammer, grip fame, grips and mainspring assembly.
