My Addiction Strikes Again.....

So, back in the mid 70's I started reloading with a brand-new Lee Loader for my 30-40 Krag.

With tax, it was over $12 !!!
Wow, THAT MUCH?!

I loaded over a thousand rounds with that thing before foolishly selling it for whatever stupid reason.

Have watched for a replacement for the last 20 years with no luck.
Finally just decided to buy a new one in the plastic box direct from Lee - but by then they had discontinued the 30-40 caliber.

Figures.

I was dumb enough to put a search alert on Ebay - where I would sometimes see a rusted group of metal objects on sale for only $150-$200.

Then one in good shape with papers and everything came through - and is now on the way to my house.

Good grief, I've got a pickup load of reloading equipment but somehow I want this?
It turns out that yes, I do.

With tax, license, dealer prep, shipping, insurance, background check, DNA profiling, etc. (joking) it came to $95.

But, I look at it this way - $95 now was only about $17 in 1976 - so that makes it okay - right?

My first reloading tool was a Lee Loader in .44 Magnum; I read the instructions and figured out how to use it (simple), but never did use it to reload a single round. Wish I still had it (must have sold it "way back when", but have no recollection of that).

I actually reloaded my first ammunition with a Lee hand press and Lee "Speed Dies" - anybody remember those? For a while you could find 'em cheap, and I think I was lucky enough to get almost a complete collection of all the different calibers. (I think I might even have one or two mounted in turrets as bullet seating or crimp dies! ;^) If anybody has any "Speed Dies" they want to get rid of, let me know!
