Hi,

News this morning reported actor Leonard Nimoy has passed. Most of us will think of his Star Trek role, but his 83 years were filled with all kinds of roles. Really an all around good guy! RIP, Sir.

I saw that earlier today :( I never was into Star Trek. For me, his most memorable character was as Dr. David Kibner, the Psychiatrist, in the '78 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. I can see that happening today

RIP Leonard...

For some reason, his passing hit me harder than that of other entertainers. I guess Star Trek was more important to me at a formative time in my life than a lot of other shows. Time marches on, and i know that its jackboots will someday walk right over me, too.

Saw a video of Leonard Nimoy explaining the origin of the Vulcan split finger salute. It seems his father brought him and his brother to temple and he saw the salute being used in a Jewish ritual. Many years later he remembered the gesture and it was incorporated in Star Trek.

Very talented individual, and from what I have read, a gun owner and second amendment supporter. He will be missed....

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few". Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan AND Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon.

He even gave a speach at an NRA event once stressing the importance of liberty and the right to defend your life and society as a whole.

Hi,

Another nice tribute to Mr. Nimoy came from one of SoCal's favorite DJs as she began her show this evening:

On a favorite Spockism, "'Loss of life is to be mourned, but only if the life was wasted.' His was not!"

Sad to hear when I saw it. Some of the best humor from him was in Star Trek IV.

''one damned minute admiral'' is the best line.

R.I.P

That is a funny one. Some of my favorites with him taking everything literally:

Kirk: If we play our cards right, we may be able to find out when those whales are being released.

Spock: How will playing cards help?

Gillian: Sure you won't change your mind?

Spock: Is there something wrong with the one I have?

I was at a stage in my life where my mother used to let me and my sister stay up 'til 10 pm on Friday and watch Star Trek when it first aired...saddened me slightly when I first found out, he was a great actor, see you when I get there, R.I.P.

He was also a Sgt. in the US Army. Hope his last beam-up was successful. God's Speed Spock!

The character Mr. Spock brought logical thought to millions of people. Mr Spock asked his Vulcan father "why did you marry an earthling?" Reply-"at the time it seemed logical!" RIP Mr Nimoy!
