Just thought y'all would be interested. I was out at Cabelas in Allen the other day, and they had this stuffed deer with a plaque beside him. I bet those antlers were pretty annoying, to the poor deer. It looks like the two lobes on either side would block his eyesight.

I don't remember where, but I just saw some new article about some guy up in Canada I think, who broke the record for a deer with the most points, something like 124. (pictures taken with my I-phone.)

Hard to believe these were grown in one brief season. Awesome pics. Thanks for posting.

Hi,

Sure is! When I got my first job at the trap and skeet range, around 1967, my boss had a couple of large "non-typical" mounts over the clubhouse fireplace. I don't recall how many points, but they were far short of this guy. Anyway, he'd taken both of them on the Kaibab Plateau, north side of the Grand Canyon, right after he got home from the South Pacific at the end of WWII. He said there was some kind of heavy mineral deposit in the ground which caused that kind of growth. Whatever the cause, talk about growing pains...
