It certainly seems that God had a hand in it.

They kept replaying Trump saying “One Glorious Nation Under God”. “Under God” has a nice ring to it.

Made my heart feel good.

When you find that BOTH candidates have broken the Commandments, it becomes a matter of whose policies are better for the country.

It is simply so sad that we have to resort to the lesser of the evils because there are so few politicians that are righteous.
 
God is over all and nothing happens without Him allowing it. And He uses all things for his purpose.

I saw this yesterday and thought it was great…

I have indeed read the Ten Commandments, and in fact recite them each morning at breakfast. But to support one who advocates the murder of unborn babies, I had to go with Trump. In fact the Bible does mention something about ".....at the sound of the last Trump....."

I am reminded that Scripture alludes to the fact that Israel had sunk so low that "there was not a man among them to judge over them." So a woman became a judge.

I have to disagree here. God does not "allow" anything. We have free will. Sometimes evil people are guided by Satan and although God tries to direct us sometimes he loses out.

God does not "allow" anything.....? I think Job would disagree. God does allow Satan to work, but He keeps on tight rein.

Sorry, its just that I can't remember hearing those two words used in the same sentence before.

There are good people in any classification of humanity. I was being a mite facetious there, but fact is, I've found that if I treat any man, or woman, with decency and respect, they come across as a really nice person.

Up front, I am a born again Christian believer.

Everyone has broken the commandments, everyone. The Bible is clear when it states there are none that do good, none that are righteous and that all sin and come short of Gods Glory.

God instituted government for the common good of man. Most governments themselves have gone astray from original mandates to protect and do no harm.

Consider King David when was the King of Israel, a major kingdom of its day. David had eyes for a married woman named Bathsheba whom he say bathing naked. He had an affair with her and she came pregnant. In David’s attempt to cover up his sin, he arranged for her husband to be killed in battle. It was murder. David paid a consequences for his sin but God said that David was a man after His own heart.

If we only elected perfect people, no one would ever get elected. One commandment is not more worthy than another, stealing a pen from work is equal with adultery, they are still sin in Gods eyes.

Name a perfect person to vote for? We vote for the person that will best lead us in the right direction in spite of their flaws.

For decades I have heard the term "born again Christian". It never made sense to me.

I was born, baptized and raised with Christian beliefs. Can't say I was always a "good Christian", young men, especially GI's tend to stray. But I always held my beliefs.

I always thought a better term was a "reformed Christian".

Sounds like you might be Born Again and not realize it per the terminology. If you confess the Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the ead. You will be saved. (Born Again)
