Like Jim, I had a job that sent me all around the northern hemisphere. I've seen many very beautiful places. And even though I'm more of a mountain guy than a beach guy, the Caribbean is the most beautiful place IMO. If you ever get the opportunity to, fly from Houston to San Juan with a right side window seat. You'll see more colors than you ever imagined existed. Hawaii is very plain and boring in comparison.
In 1985 on my way to Singapore and Jakarta Indonesia I spent a few days in Honolulu. While there I rented a 300ZX and toured the whole Island including Pearl and the USS Arizona, North Shore, and drank beers at "The Pink Lady"/ Royal Hawaiian on Waikiki Beach . I have also spent time there will on trips to Asia. Yes Oahu is nice, BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
As far as the Islands go Kauai Hawaii is head and shoulders above Oahu IMHO
My Buddy and I spent a week on Kauai on our way back from a project in Russia.
We were not there as tourist since it is where he grew up and his Hawaiian family is still there which is who I stayed with,
Kauai is a VEARY beautiful Island that must be why so many movies and TV shows have been filmed there Jurassic Park, South Pacific, Magnum PI and others. The tourist industry is very light also. One of his friends has a helicopter business and flies a Hughes 500. He took us on a flight around the island and we did some areas and flying that was not for the tourist. It was Great.
A little known attraction Waimea Canyon: The Grand Canyon of the Pacific.
We flew into these waterfalls and the Canyon

I travelled quite a bit all over the Atlantic Ocean in boomer and fast attack subs. from Jamaica to Scotland and above the Arctic Circle.
Loved Iceland the best so far. In the U.S. for me it is anywhere between Whitefish Montana and Sandpoint Idaho.
Norway is on the bucket list.

Highway 89 alternate between Flagstaff and Sedona. You start out in the high pine forest, go down through Oak Creek Canyon and wind up in the red Rock desert.
The Avenue of the Giants. Highway 101 in Northern California. The redwoods here are unbelievable..it's like riding through a cathedral.
Both are best seen by motorcycle...!

Last time we did it was on the FXRT. When we got to Sedona I asked her what she'd like to do now...she said, "Turn around, go back up to Flagstaff, turn around and do it again!"
Love her.
My folks lived in Prescott Valley for eight years. I spent close to a year in Sedona doing the cabinets and interior woodwork in a church there. Starting from Flagstaff, keep going through Sedona, Cottonwood and Jerome, and over Mingus mountain to Prescott for a great one day ride. Made that trip almost every week while I was there.

Lots of beauty in Alaska if we would quit using it as a giant trash can. Miners have to do reclamation to halfway restore the land when they're done but the place is littered with worn out rusted away boats and cars left there forever. The Black Hills is beautiful also even if it doesn't belong to the white man.
Since waterfalls were mentioned we have a beautiful double waterfall in Death Valley. It’s a bit of a hike but well worth it.
I've traveled a fair amount but can't really come up with what I think was the most beautiful place. But when outside the U.S. there have been very few times that the thought has popped into my head "I could live here!". One of those places was Passau, Germany. Walking the streets of that old city, with the multi-colored old buildings, the little plazas with outdoor cafes around every turn, the streets of young, smiling people and finding that everyone speaks English put that thought into my head. Of course it was in September when the weather was beautiful so I have no idea of what it is like in the depths of winter. I never would have imagined thinking that thought in Germany, but Passau seemed special.

I do have a THIRD choice that is interesting but not landscape-sized scenery: The jungles of Central America. Everything is green except the flowers and butterflies. Then you realize that you might see 100 orchids outside your window (in coastal Belize) but they might be 50 different species!
