Well, the long dry very pleasant spell is over. Woke up to rain and 59 degrees. Wife boarding a jet in Tampa to come home. It was 80 there this am.. Humidty not to be discussed. B-N-L texted me to tell me they'd dropped her at airport, and told me their weather. I told him ours. He said TOO COLD ! Told him I'm still wearing shorts, though maybe thats why we never had kids.... Did just finish servicing the furnace. New filter, a shop vaccing, etc..

Yup... we hit 80 this past weekend. Yesterday started out in the low 60s and stayed there until it started dropping in the afternoon. In the low 40s when I got up this AM, and supposed to hit 50 today. It's that time of year, ya know.

Out here in the wild Southwest, the weather is drying out from Monsoons, and the nights are cooling off to the mid-lower 60s finally!

We finally got all of our hay baled and stacked, the cows all down from summer range onto the open ranch hay meadows for winter, and the first 160 (the oldest) calves shipped. We will be shipping calves through October and into November.
We have snow on the ground where we had cows on summer range in the mountains and on the news was reported that the ski areas are expected to open soon. Highway 34 was closed last week as a result of snow conditions, according to our radio reports.
We are all ready for winter so all is well here in the Colorado Mountains.

First frost of the season today, pretty light though, more tonight. Called my wife who is at Myrtle Beach, she tells me to bring in her house plants and cover some others. This frost will help with allergies in me and the dogs. Frost also gets me excited about the upcoming hunting seasons.

Had a couple days of early fall, then rain today. Kinda made me glad that I hauled hay and then fixed that stretch of fence Saturday. Now, I'll be a little-more free'd-up to finish fixing the leaks in the barn roof before it's time to start storing extra hay for winter......which won't be long.
Never ending, that's what it is.....but, it keeps me out of the bars. :lol: .
