This was our little girl black lab, which was my baby and our long-haired party Pekingese. The Peke thought I was his pet.
Picture is from about 1994. The lab was given to me by a friend LEO that arrested the dog for jaywalking. He saw me walking down the street and said I got your dog here, bud. You’ll just have to come bail her out when She gets out of jail. He called my wife 10 days later and said no one had claimed her so she went down and paid $35 to bail her out. Dog was with me from California to Louisiana and was just a big lapdog. Her name was Turkey. When we first got her, nobody knew her name so we were calling out all the common and most popular names, especially those for black dogs. After our two kids finally gave up, I said that dog is a real turkey. She jumped up, and came and sat down in front of me so that was her name from then on.
