Moody Blues founder, Ray Thomas has passed. Prostate cancer at 76.

The Moodys are a great band that deserve to be in the R&R HoF. They are nominated this year. Travesty he didn't get to see it, but at least he knew they getting the nod.
The Moody Blues were one of the forerunners of Prog Rock - before bands like Yes, ELP, Pink Floyd, ELO, Rush, Genesis, J. Tull, et al. Days of Future Passed was one of the first great prog rock albums. Nights in White Satin, Tuesday Afternoon, Go Now, among a bunch of good songs that stand the test of time. RIP.

RIP Ray...

He hadn't worked with the band for some time. Time's catching up with all of us. The Moody's sure made some great music.

An incredibly talented band. Really love their music. Sorry to hear about Ray.

Still touring, never miss them when they are around. Ray Thomas left the band in 2001 due to gout. A couple of years ago the drummer, Graham Edge, came out and announced to the crowd he had just turned 75 and danced a little jig. Edge, Hayward and Lodge are still around and can still put on a heck of a show.

Belonged in the R&R HOF years ago.

I took these off the TV 2-3 weeks ago during a PBS fundraising show of a concert. Myself and a buddy checked into going to see them in Vegas but most of the shows were already sold out. I had to send them to my multi instrument talented buddy to show him what his future would look like in another 15-20 years of playing small town gigs. He actually looks quite a bit similar to the drummer just not quite as white----yet.

We saw them a couple years ago in Syracuse, in the Landmark Theatre. It was the opening show for the tour that year. Outstanding. They played up to the crowd wonderfully, sounded great, and rocked as hard as any r+r band I ever saw. I had to chuckle when I realized how gray the crowd was. Many old time fans brought their teen age grand kids to the show. Interested to see how they responded, I was very disappointed to see them spending almost the whole concert time on their I pads/ phones. Horribly disrespectful.

A friend was a Pink Floyd fan I was Moody Blues fan, Many discussions between who
was the best ah the good ole days. My friend Ray has recently passed and he is missed.
Think I'll Play Money in his honor! ps

My band had "Ride My SeeSaw" and "Story in your eyes" on our set list for a long time. I love the guitar work on that stuff, great vocal lines. Real songsmithing excellence and their live performances were excellent events
