MKIII trigger removal

MarkIII Competition model.
Finally got my trigger removed and installed Volquartsen adj. trigger.
I was able to get the trigger only about 3/4 way up out of the frame them had to remove the Hammer,etc.
That is when I did not keep the Safety in its place and lost the Detent pin without knowing it. The detent pin looks like a smal rivet. I found it but to late.
Can this be forced back into the Safety button?

You have to take out the hammer and then remove the safety lever to reinstall the detent ball. The ball sits on top of a spring in the safety button. A little dab of petroleum jelly will hold it in place until you reinstall the lever. Be careful when replacing the hammer assembly that you don't allow the safety lever to push inside the frame or the detent ball could again fall from the lever and into the frame.
