A quick question for the Ruger experts. Are the MK III Hunter Target models scarce? I watched one on GunBroker top seven hundred bucks and that piqued my interest regarding this unfired one from my Dad's collection. Thanks for any info.

Some are and some aren't. I don't know the production numbers but yours is one I see for sale fairly often. I bought a nice used one like it 1 1/2 years ago for $455 OTD but all Mark models seem to be increasing in price lately. The fact that yours is NIB would certainly help.

You didn't say if the one you saw sell was the same model as yours. If you really want a price, search GunBroker for your model in the "sold" category.

I could care less if they are scare or not, I use mine. I have never bought a firearm for collecting or resale value. I buy them to use them and if they happen to gain in value its purely market driven.

KM, I have the same model and with a red dot on it, it is quite accurate. It will shoot CCI Blazers at approximately 1" CTC at 25 yards. It is actually as accurate as my SS 67/8" MKIII and a lot more handy field gun. The prices on those have been all over the map. I paid 250.00+ shipping three years ago and i have seen some in the 6-7 hundred range, with no bids on them. Nice gun you will like it.
