I originally thought the Mk III Hunters all came in a green box, but I've since seen them in the standard gray box as well. I've also seen the normal label as well as orange box labels. Was there any pattern to the box and label coloring or did Ruger just use what they had available?

My Mk. III Hunter, KMKIII678H with a 01-09-2015 test fire date came in a black plastic case. It has a standare black on white label.

Yes...the earliest Hunters were in a green box. I'm not sure I took notes on when it was changed to black though.
The labels went from Orange to white on an administrative change with Ruger in keeping BATF happy...something about the way the serial number was noted on the label.
