Mini Thirty PMag 20 round issues

I purchased 2 new PMag 20 round mags for my Mini Thirty. Can't get more than 15 rounds in before the follower binds up. If I take a round out the rest basically fall out. I can then tap the mag on the table and it releases. Can they be re-worked so they load?

My experience has been only Ruger brand mags with the Mini 30 and 14 …. Now, if Ruger is shipping them now with that brand ….. thats another issue

As stated above, Ruger makes the best 20-Rd mags for their Mini-series of carbines, so it's better to just pay the extra bucks and buy a Ruger mag to start with................As to the "Pmag" question, I'll assume that by that we are talking "Pro Mag". And if so, the only Pro Mag that I know of worth fooling with for a Mini-30 is their 10 Rounder, and even that one needs to be took down, de-burred, and polished inside. Lately, some have been furnished with springs that are way too strong, and if you happen upon one of those, you'll need to remove one full coil off of it's length or it's not going to function right if fully loaded. Personally, I wouldn't even fool with an off brand 20 Rd mag. Send it back for a refund, that's my advice.

Can you provide a link to the product you are referencing? As far as I know Magpul does not make a PMag for the Mini-30. Curious since PMags are usually decent and would guess cheaper than Ruger factory mags.

I agree that 'P-mags' have never presented any issues for me but then, I don't have a Mini-30.
Sounds like there's interference between follower and mag body toward the lower end and it's possible this will sort itself out OR remove the floorplate and check for burrs.

I typed "Pmag for Ruger Mini-30" into my search engine and all the links it produced were for Pro Mag. Nothing about a "Pmag" at all......so until someone shows me wrong, I'm saying that there is no Pmag being made for the Mini platform. Maybe the OP will chime in with more information relative to what kind of mag he actually has, but even if he does, my advice on 20-Rd mags for the Mini-30 remains the same....just buy the Ruger-brand mag and be done with it.

As already stated, the only reliable mags for the Mini-30 is the factory mags.
Pretty sure I've tried them all.

Yeah NikA, Pmags are a product of Magpul Corp. & they make no mention of offering mags for a Mini.

OP needs to define what he bought. If trying to stuff 20 rounds of 7.62x39 into a 20 round AR mag, that could present a problem. OP, have you had the new mags in the gun with acceptable fit?
