I have an older Mini 30 that I've not really liked - none of the aftermarket magazines worked worth a hoot, and my targets at the range looked like I'd been shooting a shotgun. (Just so you know, I have a .17HMR with less than $300 invested and if I can't keep my groups at 100 meters inside 3/4" inch I'm depressed..so at least at times, I can shoot decently) But I digress.... I took my Mini to the range today along with my Winchester barreled M-1 Carbine. I'd long since dumped the scope from the Mini - didn't seem to help. I got a Ruger brand 20 rnd mag for Christmas I hadn't tried yet. I had some of the cheap MFS brass case/reloadable ammo from Cabelas. Scoff if you want, but these old eyes are really happy with what I got at 50 meters with the factory peep on both rifles. The second target is with the Carbine, what a joy to shoot. We can't all be "get 'em all in one hole or it don't count" kind of shooters.

Looks alright.

I need to go do the same with my (Newer) 30 and the underwood m1 :)

The haters out there will never be happy. I shot my Mini 14 a few weeks ago and with 20 shots I was under 2" at 100 yards, I thought about posting it, but I get so sick of all the trash out there with useless posts about the Minis.

Both groups look like they would make a hater duck and run for cover! :D

Groups look fine to me, if you were deer hunting I would suspect you would have bagged your deer on the first shot.
I also got some of that MFS ammo and worked fine for me as well,
I really like my mini 30.
by the way did you ever get a chance to try out your new 20rd mag for the mini 30.

Yes, that's what I used - never got the 5 rnd mag out of the bag. Worked just great. I have 5 or 6 other aftermarket mags that aren't worth a hoot. With the Ruger, I first started with 5 rounds loaded, then 10. Never put more than 10 in at once.

I got a series 189 mini 30, aint really shot it much, sure dont expect a tackdriver, I got an Ultradot red dot on it for now, need to sight it in and do some damage on some hogs. your shooting looks pretty good to me.
