Folks last Friday i attempted to make a purchase using our purchase departments computer program. To tell you the truth, im not computer savvy... Ive always maintained that if what I have doesn't help catch more fish or kill more quail, I dont need it. I was told where I could find the "window" to start the process. Well, 2 hours later I still couldn't find it; so I went to our super efficient admin assistant( who is woefully overworked and under paid, but highly appreciated) and relayed my plight .... She then handed me a 31 page pamphlet, which describes the procedure. 2 hours later I still cant find the "window" to start........ Many years ago one simply filled out a sheet of paper and sent it in to the purchasing dept. I had no idea a that my present job would require a degree in computer science. All this does is gum up the works....I never felt so mad and helpless as I did that day... I live my life very simply. I dont ask for what others consider necessities. I drive a diesel pick up with NO ELECTRONICS, carry a revolver, shoot a 12 gauge pump, and build furniture with hand-tools, further when I build a floral carved holster it gives me a great deal of pleasure to know, there aint no dad blasted computer can copy my work,,,,,,,, I know the computer age is here , but why do these edumicated, idjits go ago to great lengths in making something simple so complex??? whats the point, can anyone tell me?????? When I retire in 6 years my man cave will have sign that reads:
" NO: LIBERALS , COMPUTERS, ROMANCE NOVELS, cRAP MUSIC, OR TALKING BAD ABOUT JOHN WAYNE! "
I may have to move to the Big Bend area of Texas to do this................................................rant over
