I am considering a purchase of a Mil spec 1911 and would be interested in members opinions. I really like the "Old School" look for the WWII models.

Anyone have a Auto Ordnance 1911A1? I am interested in the newer Kahr manufactured Auto Ordnance guns and how they are working out.

This gun would be for plinking and such.

Anyone want to share your experiences with this gun?

The closest I've had was the Springfield G.I..

The closer to G.I., the more I like them. Seems I've heard fairly good reviews about the current crop of Auto Ordnance 1911's.

I'd sure like to get my hands on one of the Colt 1911 repro's. Cylinder and Slide had a nice 1911 repro last year for the 100 year anniversary.

Rock Island is very hard to beat in a tough, well made, inexpensive 1911

That.

I'd skip the Auto Ordnance. They're probably the worse clones out there.

Found a RIA at the local AFB for $430 out the door with no tax. Picked it up a few minutes ago and got her home without wife finding out.

Not a bad price and if it functions reliably, I will be completely happy. Thanks for the comments regarding the Auto-Ordnance. I have found comments all over the net with both good and bad.

This will be a plinker gun for sure.

Short range report for the Rock Island Arms.

125 rounds with no malfunctions.

100 Winchester White Box 230 grain and 25 rounds Remington 230 grain JHP.

Seems to shoot low and left at 20 yards. Had to adjust my sight picture.

Great day at the range.
