Yesterday I placed an order on Midway for an item, and as of this morning I still have not received the email to complete ordering, I have checked my junk folder and quarantine on my email provider multiple times. Their customer service is closed on weekends so I can't call till tomorrow.Anybody have a problem ordering stuff on weekends?

I placed a Midway order last night. I got a order confirmation immediately. Today, I had another email, telling me they are preparing my order.
All normal here.

Re-reading your post, I wonder if you completed your order? When I order, I get an immediate order confirmation and an invoice number, while still on their site.

Have ordered on a weekend and gotten shipping info before the weekend had finished. NEVER had any issues with Midway at all.

I placed an order at 4:30pm Friday, got a confimation immediately, and a notice that it was ready before 6. My brother (who lives in Columbia) picked it up Saturday morning. No problems.

I just recieved an order on friday and was amazed at what they did. I watched the tracking info and knew it would be here friday. My UPS guy is here about every 2 days and always here between 9:30 and 10am. When he didn't show I went and tracked it again. For some reason it was transfered to USPS. I have a group lock box because I am out in the sticks. The box would not fit into the lockbox so guess what I get. A note saying I need to make the 15 miles round trip into town to the PO to pickup my order. Monday I will be making it clear with Midway to never do that again with any order coming to me.

I don't have an account with them and chose not to set one up...I just used my email address, it responded that I would get an email to complete order, as I hadn't put my info in yet, ie: name address and credit card #.

Hi,

It might be productive to ask them how their various shipping options work so you can choose an appropriate one for your circumstances. Living out "in the sticks" probably works against you in this case:

USPS, UPS and FedEx have a variety of agreements going right now. For example, we see postal vehicles running around town on Sundays now: they're running packages for "the other guys," not delivering mail! I haven't tried to figure out how the hand offs are done, but a postal clerk who works at a local processing center where they stage this stuff told me many of them have to do with cost cutting if UPS and FedEx would have to make a "special" trip to a location where the USPS carrier goes on a regular basis.

We also saw UPS deliveries being made out of U-Haul vans this last Christmas--a UPS driver told me they didn't have enough trucks and were doing everything they could to get stuff out--so I'd expect to see more of this. We might all have to adjust a bit...

I was mostly surprised because the UPS truck comes to my house just about every other day. Also pissed because I am currently in a claim situation with USPS. Clearly a case of employee theft. 500 pieces of 9mm brass disapeared out of a clearly cut open box. Now had the box been damaged I might have expected a note saying whoops we screwed up and here is all that we could find. But when the box is clearly cut open and all 500 pieces have disapeared---well can you give me any ideas besides theft??? I am not going to rest on this until I get paid. Tired of paying extra for "insurance" when we already pay for the service to get something from point A to point B. Then as with most insurance, they make it a huge hassle and strech it out as long as possible before settling up. If/when this gets resolved to my satifaction, I'll write it all up and post it.

You have to watch the shipping choices carefully. The one where the package is transferred to USPS for the final delivery is called "UPS Sure Post"

I'd bet something will probably show up tomorrow when they open the shop. I ordered some things from both Numrich and from Brownell's on Saturday and got almost immediate responses. I have, in the past, also ordered from Midway and they too send rapid responses.

pennsy, there is your problem. You didn't set up an account. You will have to wait until the normal office personal come to work.
I got one today saying my order has been shipped & a tracking number attached.

Why didn't you just place your order? I don't really understand the question. I have never heard of half placing an order??

Create a member login and you will never ever have a problem. You will get a couple of emails a month but just delete them if you want.

Create a login, select the product you would like to buy and pay. Simple. Why make it more difficult then it should be. It is a secure site. I have been a member there for years. Heck I even get 20% off anything around my birthday.
