Micro-sighted Single Six

I ran into a buddy of mine who wanted to sell an old model single six. When I looked at the gun the first thing I saw was the Micro sights that had been installed. Both front and rear sights have the Micro name engraved on them but I did not know Micro made a patridge style front sight blade in addition to a ramp blade. As I was looking at the gun, my friend said "Oh ya, it has another cylinder for 22 mag in a little red bag as well. The gun appears to have modest wear with some blueing thinning near the muzzle but overall the gun is in pretty nice condition for as old as it is. I do not dabble in single sixes much but I decided to grab this one while I had the chance. I figure if nothing else it will make good trade stock towards something I am more focused on.

Back "in the day" Micro made a full range of sight blade inserts that would fit into their ramp. There was a plain post, Baughman quick draw type, undercut blade, and bead sights, that I know of. Probably even special order.

I had a Patridge blade installed on my Colt New Service that I had customized, intending to get the quick draw later, but never did.

There were also ramps of different heights. Supposedly you determined the height of the sight and could make the ramp 1/2 or 3/4 of the total height.

Thanks for the info on the micro sights Bob. I have never dealt with them before and had no clue they offered so many options.

Nice gun. I bet it is a good shooter too. I would hang on to that one.

I know I ought to hang on to it but there are SOOOOOOO many Ruger centerfires and centerfire projects yet to do! :lol:
