Maybe I need to quit Facebook

There was a face book post saying give Trump a grade. So I looked and most people were giving him an A. Then I read down and a guy I know gave him an F. I replied that he had to be pretty whiny to have a problem with a politician doing what he said he was going to do, and that he was way better than the last guy. After a while he came back with "I thought people could say what was on their mind here." I said they can, I just never figured you for a snowflake. This is a guy 60+ years old. I can't believe what a flake he is. I may need to boot him off following me. But I got some likes with what I said to him.

So I have been trying to make friends outside of Facebook and thought I would try applying the same practices. Today I go outside my building and just start walking down the street. As I pass by people I let them know what I had to eat, how I feel right now, what I did last night, what I will do later etc... I thought it would be interesting to hand out pictures of my family, my dog and me doing some of my favorite things. If they were talking I would stop to listen to their conversation and then give them the good old "thumbs up" and let them know I like them.

So it actually worked!!!! I already have four people following me: two police officers, a private investigator and a psychiatrist.

I did not even read all the postings here. If someone wants me to look at a picture - send it to me. Don't tell me to go to Facebook or that I should look at facebook to watch someone's daily dairy. Send me a message or whatever you want me to see, I don't want to dig through all your photos to see what you were talking about.

You want to keep in touch with friends and relatives?
Write them a darn novel with 472 photos of you and the kids and email it to them.
Call them on the phone.
Have a nice video chat.
Other than that the place is full of lonely people who think they have 'friends' online.
Or crazy people who don't understand why they can't rule the world.
Then there is always the political leanings of the owner, Mark Dorkerberg.
No thanks. I have my wife and my dog so I'm not lonely.

Facebook has its faults, but its positives as well. It allows people who share common interests to find and communicate with each other. For example, I own a Bernedoodle, but personally do not know of a single other person with this "breed" of dog. Facebook allows me to hear and see what hundreds of other owners of this type dog are dealing with, questions they have, and more importantly, good suggestions. Facebook has facilitated my getting back in touch with old friends that I had lost all contact with, especially those from before my 24 years in the Army. Its an informal tool to maintain contact with work acquaintances that we mutually want to remain in contact. And part of why I like Facebook is to aggravate, but possibly cause some of my Leftwing family and friends to hear an alternative explanation to what they hear among themselves. I don't participate in TikTok, Instagram, Twitter and others, but I do stay minimally active on Facebook.

Anything posted on the internet is available to anyone who wants it, in the long run. I don't make any distinctions between what I put on FB and what I post here or anywhere else for that matter. It's out there and if the government wants to screw me for it, so be it.

FaceBook and most Social media is just a venue for idiots, wannabees & losers' to mouth off on anything & everything. IMHO. I have a face book acct, with (2) friends on it, That' right, 2 only. My daughter & my life long friend & my daughters' God mother. I do not follow it, I do not post on it unless it is from my daughter. You can use email, SKYPE & other apps to communicate with those you a-care about, you do not need FB! Remember all tyrants act along similar lines. Disarm the people, Control ALL Communications, Control Food & health. The the sheep do what they are told. If you support Social media, it is supporting the left socialist leaning bureaucracy, like it or not. Having a family member that does not agree with your political/social/religious views is difficult. However, I am not a believer in the old "blood is thicker than water bull". Any one can have an "evil" child, just ask Mrs. Manson. So, you either stand up for what you believe or you don't! Honor & Integrity is not something you use when convenient. You either have it or you don't. I have three grown children, the oldest daughter(38) being a brainwashed liberal lemming from her mother(who I divorced), who thought anything Liberal was correct and everything else was not. I have not talked to her in 12 yrs. Oh well. She decided I was wrong about Liberals, Obama, Gun Control, Social Reengineering, LGBTQ etc. One day she stopped calling. I thought it through and made my decision. Bye. I have two other children to worry about. So, you always have a choice to do what is right, honorable and maintains your integrity and self respect. Or you can fold, and give into juniors whining. Choice is yours.
