Has anyone had experience replacing the factory guide rod in a Max 9 with a Galloway 10% increased stainless steel guide rod?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I changed the trigger on my Max 9 to the Galloway one. I wasn't really worried about a shorter stroke or faster reset. It just feels better, more natural than the stock trigger.Speaking of springs, I'm considering swapping out the current metal guide rod and spring with the Galloway single flat wound recoil spring which is a stainless steel unit with fewer moving parts and more mass. Galloway says the wire used is a chrome silicone spring wire. After thinking about a 10% increase I've changed my mind and am now looking at the factory spring rate.
I'm also thinking about replacing my trigger configuration with a maxxis short stroke trigger kit for my Max 9 Ca edition. I've never done a trigger job before, but Galloway's installation video seems pretty straight forward. Have you had any experience with Galloway and their products.
Thanks.
ND's are not because of 'non safety' striker fired pistols. ND's happen with all design firearms because of poor training, lack of practice and the lack of following basic firearm safety protocols. If someone needs a safety to avoid an ND, that person should keep their firearms in a safe.I'm wishing I would have gotten the standard Max 9 with the safety instead of the Pro that doesn't to get a better trigger. I seriously believe that a lot of ND's with striker guns are because of the too good triggers with no separate safety. IMO it's the same as carrying a cocked 1911 with the grip safety taped down and the other safety off.
