After a month of waiting, I just picked up a match champion. Everyone at the shop said nothing but good things. It even built up a bit of a crowd. With that said, I opened the packaging and noticed that it only contained one front sight. I was under the assumption that the package would include a front sight for 357 mag and an additional site for 38 special. Unfortunately, both guns boxes at the shop only contained one front sight. Did Roger forget my second site or is it an optional accessory? My local gun shop wasn't sure.

According to Ruger:

Features:

The Match Champion™ Model is designed with the competitor in mind. With its ergonomic enhancements and tuned action, the Match Champion™ delivers fast, accurate shots and takes the popular GP100® to the next level. It features a contoured cylinder, Novak® Lo-Mount Carry rear sight and fiber optic front sight, Hogue® hardwood grip with stippled sides and a slab-sided, half-lug target crowned barrel.

As I remember, they discontinued the second sight as a standard item supplied with the gun shortly after they were introduced.
I have several GP100`s and every one of them will print into almost exactly the same spot at 30' when shooting 158 gr. bullets in either .357 or .38 special. They probably deemed the spare sight as not necessary. You can call Ruger and have one in a few days if you want one. Enjoy your new shooter.

Here's another thread that has the answer:

The write-ups were not in error.
The gun initially was intended to ship with two, and did, till the decision was later made to only ship with one.

The early sample I had came with two, and when I asked my rep about reports coming in about only one, that was the answer I got.

Apparently a cost issue.
