Hi All,
As a follow-up to my customizing my .30-30 336, I need a bigger loop to better fit my gorilla hands, especially when wearing gloves. I'm looking for the size of the Ranger Point Precision "medium" loop size, not the oversized "John Wayne" style.
The RPP loop is optimal, but I don't know if I want to spend the $150.00.
Are there more economical alternatives?
How hard would it be to take a standard size model and heat the loop enough to just open it up a bit? I'm thinking of wrapping the rest of the lever in wet rags to protect the temper and just use a torch to heat up the loop.
I wouldn't even worry about rebluing it...I'd just do a paracord or leather wrap on it afterwards.
Standard sized levers are readily available and fairly inexpensive...like $35-$40.
Thanks.
