Did a trigger job on my Mark III today using Volquartsen accurizing kit and new disconnector. Also removed the magazine disconnect. I replaced it with a bushing from Tandemkross. It all went back together and seemed to be OK. When I finished reassembling the bolt operated normally but when I pulled the trigger nothing happened. I tried it with and without the magazine. I checked the overtravel screw to make sure it wasn't making contact. Then I opened the mainspring latch and tried to remove the mainspring housing. It opened part way and is now stuck there. It won't close and it won't come out. Any help will be appeciated.

The hammer isn't in just right, the dangly thing is not in the mainspring latch pocket correctly. Gently smack it around and you'll get it back apart. Tell us if this is your first MK pistol so we can more in detail explain what to do next.

FYI you could have saved $20 buy buying the same kit but for a MKII and a MKII hammer bushing instead of the conversion part. Others will say ONLY buy the conversion part but you'd still have a crappy trigger.

Welcome to the Forum, to bad you're first post has to be this way. Someone will come along and give you some better advice, but right now the only thing I can think of one which was already mentioned is the hammer strut (jingly thing) or the mainspring keyed lock has worked it's way out. Just guessing. Find a good video on like this one it might help. Good Luck.

I had a similar problem when I installed a Clark trigger in my mkll. What was happening on mine was that the trigger would not reset which locked everything up.
I don't remember if I took the lower apart while the upper was still on or just removed the trigger pin which let the trigger move forward. Then I was able to get the upper off.
Initially thought the trigger was too tight. I stoned the trigger and trigger opening and. Everything seemed to work when the upper was off. Put back together and it locked up again.
Finally after comparing several other trigers I had lying around I discovered that the front of the trigger needed to be relieved to allow the trigger to go forward and reset.
This was the fourth Clark trigger I had installed. All of the others had dropped right in.
Good Luck

Can't help with the trigger issue--but I can help you get it back apart. I had the same thing happen 2 weeks ago. Took my soft faced mallet and hit the pin on top of the receiver and it came right out. From there make sure you get the "dangly" thing in there the right way. Good Luck!!!

After struggling with it for a long time, I removed the sear pin and the hammer pin and most of the parts fell out. The mainspring then came out with no problem. Put it all back together and made sure the hammer strut was in the right place this time. Worked like a charm. Looks like dropping the hammer out is the easiest way to unstick the mainspring housing. I'm probably lucky I didn't break it with all the pulling, prying and hammering I did. Thanks to everyone for their advice and support.
