Did I not see a post in the pass about someone having a problem with a magazine that has rounds in it not smoothly ejecting from a Mark II when the mag release is pushed? I can't find it and would be grateful is someone could lead me to it.

What I have is a SS Mark III, 5 1/2" bull barrel that if you insert an empty magazine it will eject and fall away from the gun fine. If it has even one round in it, it will not. I believe this is caused by the magazine disconnect?

Thanks for your assistance.

Hi Ron, You're correct in assuming it's the magazine safety. You can replace the hammer bushing with the one from Tandemkross.com for about 10 bucks, it will eliminate the magazine safety and the magazines will eject better when loaded. It also may give you a little better trigger pull and make dissasembly and re-assembly a little easier. It's pretty easy to do, I think there's a video on their website that shows how to do it. Just take a couple minutes.

I don't have any problems with magazine removal after swapping in the TK bushing. My issue is with the magazine getting seated properly in the first place. A fully loaded mag nearly requires the bolt be locked open to properly seat. Even leaving out 1 round still requires a substantial whack to seat the mag. I get along fine with 8 loaded. Hoping this is simply a factor of taking time to "wear in" since the pistol has less than 500 shots on it.
I wholeheartedly recommend the bushing swap as I find the mag safety unbearable.

Yup! It's by design. After the last round is fired, the bolt stop assembly holds the bolt back. The empty magazine is dropped and a fresh (fully loaded magazine) is installed. Pull the bolt backward slightly and then let the bolt "sling-shot" forward, and all is well.

Noper, doesn't work that way, I haven't done the "slingshot" conversion.

I discussed it with the customer and explained how it worked and that it was designed that way and that I could modify it for him if he wanted. He declined, he said he's not that worried about it now that he knows how it works and since it is a range gun he doesn't care if he has to pull the magazine out if it still has rounds in it.

I do thank you all for the assist. The only Mark III I have is used as a suppressor host for demonstrating the suppressor so each shooter only gets a few (5) rounds to shoot. I don't really care if the mag drops free or not if it is loaded.
