I have about 25 mags from various mark II's that I have accumulated over 20-30 yrs. Now I must get about 4 that fit my new mk IV. Lucky me mk III mags will fit.
I dont own any.Is there any aftermarket alternative (cheaper) ? Pardon my ignorance but I have not had to buy any mags since they introduced the III
2004? Its been a while. Thanks . Close to $400 bucks for a .22 ! I think its worth every penney.

Look on eBay. They have a lot of Ruger and MecGar after market magazines available. My LGS carries original MKIII magazines for $25. I usually save a few bucks by picking up used magazines when I find them.

Lots of MKII, III and 22/45 mags at last weeks gun show in Knoxville. Most were $25-30 and in the Ruger package. I'm on the lookout for older mags that are not packaged. Hard to find.

Mec Gar magazines run about $17.00 and work great in my 22/45. Check E-bay Brownells and MidwayUSA.

Gec Gar are hit or miss, i picked up one for my 22/45 Lite off Ebay that was supposed to be factory and it would not work good at all in my pistol, would not seat unless bolt was open, and when it was seated it was hard to get bolt to close. Sent it back for refund, i always buy factory Ruger mags, little higher priced, but never any problems.
