I have a MarkII target 6". Looks like it was made in 1995 by the serial #221-26XXX. How can I find exactly when it was made. I called New Hampshire and they would not help, and does barrel length measurement include portion threaded into body of the gun?
Thanks
Wilbur

The Ruger serial # history puts it well into the middle of the 1995 year model. Not even close to the beginning or end of the year. It's obviously a '95.
So, what are you asking? Are you looking for the exact moment that the last screw was installed?
These things don't come with a birth certificate.

Sorry, I forgot to say, the Mk II "Target" is either a 5 1/2" or a 6 7/8" barrel. Barrel is measured from the breech face to the muzzle.

Ruger "doesn't" and the Ruger info is "free" to boot..........
thank goodness for 'small' things

gotta settle for month & year................................did I say "free"

It's common for Ruger Records to only give the month & year along with the model info on a certain model gun. And,, they do all of this for free,,, and will send the letter along with it if you ask for one.

Ruger called me and told me they could not give me date of mfg. but gave me the test fire date of June 23, 1994. Close enough for a birth certificate.

The test fire date is the equivalent of a manufacture date. The test fire date is the day of final inspection.
Ruger should be able to give you a month and year of shipping also...the info's there, they just need to dig a little.

Back in the 80s Ruger would give the Manf. date and the shipping date for one of their guns. Back then most of the time the gun would be shipped one or two day after the Manf. date, and I had a couple of guns that were shipped over a week later after their Manf. date. Now, what I understand, they will only give the shipping date. Don't know for sure, as it's been a long time since I checked with Ruger.
