While at Bragg I worked with a CSM that had been SF in Vietnam. He spoke of those.......

I didn't see any Rugers. It was somewhat common to find "one offs" or "field modified" special use firearms in some places.
The one(s) I remember were modified High Standard HDM (exposed hammer) 22 pistols. They had been modded in such a way that the safety was no longer a safety but held the slide closed. This worked OK since the hammer on half cock was enough safety for those who had need for this type of gun.

Well a fellow RUGERPHILE bought a yellow MKI box at the last OGCA show as he needed a box....

Inside was an invoice for one MAC MKI silenced auto....the invoice and box number matched....

I have the invoice as he just wanted the box.....I thought it was KOOL...RR

Does anyone have any knowledge about the scopes used on the Mark 1 in Vietnam? Type/brand,power?
