...since I've been on here. I've missed being on here. I've been working a lot and the internet on locations has been pretty sucky. Haven't bought anything or even shot anything lately. Before Thanksgiving, I did put 3 rounds through my .300 WinMag Hawkeye to sight in the scope for the ammo.

But, the point of this is I am going out shooting this weekend. Got my 4 Rugers (SR9, Sp101, 10/22, and Hawkeye) all ready to go and ammo for all. Also, going to take 1911 and my gorgeous CZ 527 ready too. I haven't shot the 10/22 in over 6 months. I'm ready for Saturday. I decided to post in revolvers, because I'm taking a girl shooting. She's shot smaller calibers/ guages. So, I got a box of .357 for the SP (which is all I shoot in it). Does anyone think she'll talk to me after that? lol

Careful! The first time my daughter fired my snub .38 it recoiled up and hit her on the forehead. Now I can't get her to shoot ANY centerfire handguns.

I'd buy (reload?) a box of .38s (or .357s loaded down to .38 velocities) .... Won't hurt the gun, and just maybe she will 'like' to shoot them. My wife doesn't mind shooting, but not at the .357 level. Just say'n ....

About the .357 and the girl. If you really want to listen to an opinion, I don't think that's such a good idea. If you don't want her to get hurt and actually enjoy shooting, I'd pick up a box of .38 specials for her to shoot. You might even make them cowboy loads if they sell them where you are.

Think about it seriously. Some people think it's funny to give a little 105 pound girl a big gun and laugh at her when it practically smacks her in the head, I don't think of that as fun.

There are enough gun haters out there, make a shooter out of her.

+1.

Let me explain this, clays don't have a prayer when she's shooting skeet. She's a great shot. Knows how to shoot very well. Just never shot magnums from a snubby. It might've been a while since she shot anything, but has plenty of experience. The pain in the hand is what I was talking about, not kissing the barrel.

That's great. But some ladies just don't enjoy shooting a .357 mag. I'd still pick up a box of .38s so the day won't be a bust for her.

She might be real appreciative......
