MAK-90 question

Does anybody made a stop-screw or pinned flash hider for one of these?

My barrel is ribbed but not threaded.

not sure but brownells sells a thread adapter that has 4 set screws and accepts threaded flash hiders/ breaks.....if you have enough "meat" on the barrel you can just have it threaded. i don't mind a neked barrel on mine.......

I'm not sure what you mean by "ribbed". I've seen Maks that were made with threaded barrels and they were flattened some so they could be imported back in the 90's. Others were just smooth metal around the muzzle.

most MAKs were not threaded.....some of the earlier ones were already made before the "MAK"designation. the ribs H-man is talking about are tool marks that run the entire length of the barrel.

I have not seen those ribs. I don't know if adapters would work with them or not.

for threading you need at least .551....yours should be around .552-.555.

this place has the tools...i think you need DIE14X1LH and TAT14X1LH30 and # 1.5" DIESTOCK = $73.85 plus shipping.

personally, for accuracy and trouble free shooting i would not put pin or clamp anything on the front of my barrel.....cut threads or just leave it. IMHO

Thanks to you Chefrob ...... I'm leaning towards just leaving it alone. Really no interest in buying almost $100 worth of tools and only hoped there'd be a simple "fix" just to enjoy the looks of one.

Funny you say that ...... just a couple week back a local pawn show had a used all metal 75 round drum for $25.00! :shock:

check at MidwayUSA.com for the John Masen pinned MB.
It comes with new pins. You knock out the pins in the Mak's FSB, slip on the MB and install the new pins.

remember this is not a flash hider but a muzzle break.........it is more functional imo.
