Picked up my 480 ruger Blackhawk. Overall happy with it. Few minor scratches. Don't know why there was metal shaving floating around in the box. The grips are horrible. Fit is bad and they will not tighten up. Going to call Ruger maybe a different set will be better. But I know the real solution is a set of grips fitted to the revolver. Bisley grip frame, would like micarta or G 10 but am open to laminate wood as well. Figure with the recoil and likelyhood of caring it I don't need any fancy wood that I will cry about if it gets damaged.

So need some suggestions. Affordable quality work fitted to my grip frame. I know I will have to spend some money but I see some makers that want nearly as much as the gun for a set of grips.

Appreciate any suggestions thanks

Check out member 41 Magnum, here: http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=42

I contacted him regarding new grip panels for my new Blackhawk. When I followed-up with him a couple days after the conversation kind of petered-out, to ask him if there was anything else he needed of me, he answered "Nope. I'm making something for you to try, right now."

He messaged me a couple days ago to let me know they were close to being done. I can't wait to check 'em out.

Here is another vote for 41 Magnum. He has made several grips, and 4-5 inserts for the SP101. He is a very good man to work with, and his work is very good also. I feel that getting in contact with him, and let him what you need/want, you will be pleased.

Thanks

Mike

Got grips from LSCG and 41Mag- both transactions were wonderful and the results are exactly what I wanted.

Contact Zane of Lone Star Custom Grips. He can fix you up without costing a kidney.

I agree, Zane did a beautiful job fitting pair of black micarta grips on my FA m83, price was very reasonable.
