Looking at scope recommendations here in the forum...

I am shopping scopes for my 10/22 build with the intention of target shooting 50 and 100 yd ranges. There are several good threads here in the forums, but the ones I found are from a few years ago. I'm wondering how these reviews have aged with new products and changes in pricing, etc.

Here is my checklist:
- adjustable focus
- adjustable objective
- 40mm or less
- waterproof
- fogproof
- lifetime "no questions" warranty
- less than 1 lb

The value point from where I'm sitting seems to be a Meuller APV, and I have seen favorable mentions here in the forums. Here is a current listing at $119

Anybody out there have a competitive option for these specs at close to this price?

Anybody have an update since the forum comments dated 2013 or 2015?

Any recent red flags regarding customer service or product support from this manufacturer?

You failed to mention a scope made for .22 rifles. Most do not know what that is and I see normal rifle scope on the .22lr all the time. Parallax on rimfire scopes is set at 60 or 75 yards vs 150 yds on the others. Yes, you can get a scope with focus adjustment. But, what about adjustment down to 25 yards or even 50ft.

It says this on the mfg site "...Minimum Parallax setting 10yds..." though I take advertising claims with a grain of salt.

Well, that point is checked off. Now all the other factors that make a scope a great scope. I have no comment on the scope you listed. Good Luck.

The two best values in .22 scopes are the Mueller you mention and the Simmons 22MAG AO. I have the latter and am absolutely delighted with it. It only fault is that the power ring is very hard to turn. Others have complained about this, too, so it's not just mine. Still, I am VERY satisfied with it for the $75 or $80 I paid for it (six or eight years ago).

When I bought it, it was substantially cheaper than the Mueller. I have no idea what either sells for now. Just another option to investigate.

From what I've read, you'll be happy with the Mueller. And you DO want to stay with your desire for an adjustable objective. IMHO this is a MUST have feature in a serious .22 scope.

I am definitely leaning toward the Mueller scope right now, but I have a bit more homework to do. It is reassuring that I haven't been able to find anything online in forums or in YouTube from people who experienced customer service problems. The consensus seems to be that I'd have to spend at least half-again if not twice as much to get better glass.

I had a Mueller like you listed and it was a good scope. It ran off with a gun I sold though.

The Mueller has a good reputation and I've had one of their 4-16's on a Savage 93 for quite a few years. I would probably opt for the APT if I were buying another for a rimfire. Although I have been very happy with the Burris 3-9x on my latest Savage MKII. It's higher than the Mueller but a much better scope. No parallax adjustment but it is a dedicated rimfire scope.
