Remember the Crest Toothpaste ads in the 50s & 60s?

One of the first advertisements for Crest Toothpaste in the United States appeared in 1958. It was a television spot starring a happy child reporting to her mother the good news after her trip to the dentist. The commercial started with a little girl getting out of a car and running across the front lawn of her house yelling “Mama! Look Ma! No Cavities!”

Then I vaguely remember their biggest ad campaign trying to compete with Colgate.
They took 20 teenagers, 10 boys and 10 girls and isolated them on a ranch for 6 weeks. They were all fed the same meals every day and brushed their teeth with Crest.

It was a good news, bad news thing. After six weeks only two teenagers actually showed signs of cavities but 6 of the girls were pregnant...
