Ok I need advice. I'm looking at a 3 digit long frame SBH sold in June 1960. Mahog box and paperwork look really good. Some muzzle rub and a cylinder ring. Grips very good. seller wants $1750 - comments? Also am I correct thinking this is NOT a high polish?

Thanks,
Mike

should not be a high polish, and this one looks correct..the high polish guns came a tad later....the the 3 digit super should have the same finish as a 44 flattop from the same era... for a three digit that is a great price

Mike,
As stated above it looks good to me from the photo's. The finish looks to be correct for the early Supers & I feel you got a good price on it. Everyone on this forum & other forum have commented on how the prices have settled down & Supers are included. That is a good price & the box looks good also. Nice Long frame! Remember only 300 were produced & who knows how many have been lost or destoried. That being said you are looking @ a rare old gun. Enjoy!

I've made him an offer so we will see....thank you all as usual for the expert help. It would be nice to add this one to my 1960 high polish mahog box.

I'm dragging this one back after a month or so to ask if you guys have a realistic idea what this long frame with eagle logo on barrel, mahogany box & original paperwork would sell for in your market in the US. I have Chad's small RENE book and see the info on it but I don't see a price listed. I still haven't bought it but if I could sell for double it might be worth it to try exporting to a US FFL.

Thanks,
Mike

Is it in Canada or the US?

Hey Steve, it's in very limited market Canada now but if the gun could realize enough $$ in the US it would be worth the trouble of going through the exporting process to a US FFL holder. Long frame doesn't mean much to more than a handful here North of the border but certainly would be more appreciated by a wider group in your country.

I have now officially bought SBH serial #723 as shown above except for one unfortunate thing. The previous owner spilled a bit of coffee on the inside (velvet?) liner. It is in one small area and thank god it didn't touch the label. I'm wondering if you have any tips on cleaning or should I just not mess with it?

Also I am investigating export process here in Canada and in the US as my plan is to sell the item closer to summer and it would be more appreciated (valued) stateside rather than here.

Best,
Mike in Vancouver
