I found their website, and had them deliver 500 of the 38cal 158SWC bullets. They are a soft cast bullet (BHN 10) and are suitable for mild to medium loads.

I'm testing some in 38spl over WST powder, @~770fps. They shoot well, and I get absolutely no leading, as the lube is sticky and lasts all the way down the barrel. In fact, after shooting 25 rounds, there is a small ring of lube around the muzzle, which wipes right off. The gun is absolutely clean of lead to scrub out.

Wondering if any others have tried these bullets?

I have shot 1000s of Lone tree bullets. They are located in Chugwater Wyoming. I haven't had any problems with .38 cal bullets. I tried shooting their 9mm and I had terrible leading issues at all velocities. I tried Cheycast bullets located here in Cheyenne and experienced leading issues in .38, so I am switching back to lone tree. I will stick with lone tree in revolver calibers, but not in autos. For just a little bit more you can shoot Precision Delta jacketed in autos.

Mastercast versus LoneTree bullets is an apples to oranges discussion. Mastercast is a hard cast bullet which can be pushed to "high" velocities, and LoneTree is a BHN10 bullet (soft) with a sticky lube for low to medium velocities. In fact, with Mastercast (or other hardcast bullets), if you don't push them hard enough, you can get leading.

That's why I asked the question to begin with. I'm specifically looking for experiences with a dedicated softcast bullet. It's the first time I've used this soft of a bullet, and it's working very well for its intended purpose.

I don't shoot SASS but that's what the LoneTree bullets were originally designed for.

I would imagine that LoneTree at BHN10 is a bit too soft for the pressures of 9mm. They state that their bullets are good up to 20,000psi, and a standard 9mm round is way above that.

I'll check out the Precision Delta jacketed bullets.

I cast myself some from pure lead/a little tin and lubed them with Lee Liquid Alox tumble lube and so far I have not had leading problems. I shoot them in 45, 38/40 and 44/40 but I keep them below 1000fps,more like about 750 to 800 fps. I believe the Lee Alox helps also.(Just for informations sake?)

Brad is a great guy to work with, and you can select different BHN for a particular loading requirement. For instance, he has some 45acp bullets at 12BHN which I use for bullseye loads @750fps, and some 45acp bullets at 18BHN which work well for max loads in a 1911. He's got a softer lube than most and it works very well in the guns I've tried it in.

Still, nothing as soft of lead and sticky of lube, that what I've tried at LoneTree. Very unique set of bullets, and driven slow, they work very well.

RimRock bullets in Ronan Montana is another reputable caster that makes bullets in different grades of hard. Beautiful product line and good prices.
