Lipsey's 44 Special help please

I bought a Lipsey's 44 special sheriff, but I found another stainless 44 special with a 4 3/4" barrel marked "Vaquero" also eventhough its a new vaquero frame like the Lipsey's

Anyone know what or who's exclusive it is?

Yes, stainless new vaquero marked "Vaquero" but with a longer barrel than the sheriff. They have a blued flatip 44special New black hawk too.

You have two winners! The perfect size 44 Spls.

Since there were no large frame Vaqueros made in 44 Special, it can't be a "New" Vaquero, so the mid frame 44 Spl is an original, just a Vaquero.

In an odd way, I think I understand exactly what you just said.

They don't have to label it "New Vaquero" because there is no original large frame predecessor in that particular caliber. So if they invented a 47 caliber right now on the smaller frame they could name it "Vaquero".

Kinda loophole?

One of those 'dumb' things that Ruger did.... To make it easier on us all, all fixed sight medium frames 'should' be simply marked New Vaqueros regardless of caliber. All large frames then stay marked Vaqueros. <Sigh> Not so .... So we end up having these conversions about once a month! :roll:
