All,

What is the going price for a Liberty .257 Roberts in 98% condition? I saw one today but had someplace else I needed to get to. I may go back and buy it.

Also, this one looked like it had the thinner 22" barrel. I thought most of the Roberts guns had the 24" barrel. Maybe I'm mistaken.

Thanks,

SR

Well since I didn't hear from you guys, I just bought it. Probably more like 99%, but I bet I can gently get it down to 98% over the next few years. :)

Originally the .257s were a non-catalogued rifle in the 70- prefix era and in ST configuration. They had sights and the round top receiver drilled and tapped, contoured for Remington 700 type scope bases. They indeed had the 24" medium contour barrel. After that configuration was discontinued the .257 was offered in the same light contour as the 30/06 and smaller cartridges (except the 25/06).

There were a fair number of these made and surface regularly. There are two on Gunbroker right now, one a really nice example.
