Leather for 5.5" BH?

I bought a 5.5" BH only to learn that Bianchi doesn't make a 1L for that barrel length. I can't fidn much of anything for that length, but it occurs to me that Cotl has been making 5.5" SAAs for a long time, so would a Colt holster fit a BH, or is the Ruger frame too big? I'd like something body-hugging and high ride if possible. Mexican loop and other classic western designs won't help me much, though they're bette rthan nothing. Thanks!

I always knew that a simple solution is a 6.5" Bianchi 1L, but I hate the idea of something not being an ideal fit.

So no one knows if holsters designed for 5.5 Colts will fit 5.5 Rugers...?

I have one from the Idaho Leather Co. but I've never been able to find a source for these online. I bought mine from Oregon Trail Trading Co. in La Grande, Or. I will be down there this Friday and would be willing to see if he has any in stock and whether he would ship you one.

El Paso Saddlery does have some nice contemporary designs, but the waiting sucks. I cut the bottom off a 4" Hunter rig for an N frame to go trick or treating tonight. Didn't like the barrel exposed, but it was uneventful.

The new Flattops based on the 50th Anniversary .357's frame are very close in size to a SAA. I've no idea on what barrel lengths are available......

That doesn't mean they'll fit in "each other's" holsters but I just had to toss out that bit of intel.

I appreciate all the other tips too. I really like the Bianchi 1L design, so I guess it's 6.5" or wait for a 5.5 on eBay -- they actually exist. As alternatives, the Galco rig comes closest to not toally sucking. I'd like lined, but having a freak barrel length I guess I'll take what I can get. The Ruger-branded rig looks doable for carry -- it appears to be high ride. Pity the logo.
