Recently got a couple more Rossi 92's. Ordered the Stevesgunz gunsmithing dvd for the rifles and did an action job on this one. It is a 16" 45 caliber. Other than a slight timing issue i had to work out it went smooth. The rifle now feels as smooth as a shot out original 92 Winchester. Parts installed are the safety delete, hammer and ejector spring Steve sells. Good stuff. Rifle works good now. Finished it off by a tung oil treatment on the stock.

Thanks Jim
I sold one Marlin and bought two Rossis with the money. The 357 Rossi is slicker out of the box than the Marlin was

I love my pre-Taurus Rossi 92 in .44 Mag. I ordered a brass bead front sight, Winchester-style rear sight, and the safety plug from Stevez Gunz. All top quality accessories. My dad has them in .357 and .45 colt and they are both fine rifles as well.

This pic was taken before I installed the new sights.

I had one of the 454 Casull models and installed a Marbles rear sight on it, really a good idea.
What I loved about mine was that I could cycle the long LBT cast 45 Colt loads. And it would shoot them very accurately. 335gr LBT over 18gr of IMR 4227 shot really accurate at 150yds and rand the metal plate louder than a 170gr 30-30 out of a 20" carbine
my LGS has a 16" with large loop lever sitting on his rack, I am so tempted but am going to hold out until I find another 454.
Does anyone know if Rossi ever made the 454 Casull models with a 24" octagon barrel? A little barrel weight would help the 454 a bunch because full power 454 load recoil in the 20" carbine makes it impossible to keep the forearm in your hand, barrel jumps straight in the air being so light. The rubber recoil pad does a dang good job, but that barrel whip is nasty. I fired a heavy load from Doubletap, the Rossi forearm jumped out of my glove and the barrel went back and hit my collar bone.

+1 for the Marble's sight. I bought a 16" .357 rossi, and just couldn't see the sights. The Marble's really works. I don't know why folks are so upset about the safety. Since the only way to empty the magazine is through the action, I like having the safety on while I work the lever. BTW, my carbine definitely prefers heavier bullets.

454 Rossi tube feed gate is a great feature, Henry has that too, better for cleaning and such too.
I am sorry I ever sold mine. One day shooting 45 Colt 300gr Sierra JSP over 22.5gr IMR 4227, I was ringing an old cultivator 10" disc at 200 yds. Picking off pieces of broken clay pigeon rapid fire as fast as I could work the lever from 10yds to 100yds. The Marbles sight is that good.

That came out nice! But I will go against of the thread posts for Rossi and still take my CT made Marlin (smooth action, excellent factory trigger) with some custom touches:
