Handled a LCR (357) at my LGS today; shopping for something other than a semi-auto that my wife could handle. Most semi's are a problem because she has difficulty racking the slide. What surprised me about the LCR I handled was how stiff the cylinder release was. Very hard to depress it to rotate the cylinder outboard.

Was this peculiar to the gun I handled or is this normal for the LCR? If normal, anyone have a fix to lighten it?

It very well could be a bit stiff if it is a new gun. Over time it should loosen a bit. Also, make sure you aren't putting any pressure on the cylinder at the same time you're pressing on the cylinder latch, that would make it harder to open also. It could be that the pin that holds the latch in place is a tad bit bigger than the hole it goes in, that would make it stiff to open. Or the pin that depresses the cylinder pin may be a tight fit through the frame. Again, with time, it will get looser.

I've got an LCR and it's a great gun, it is in the rotation of the guns I carry daily.
