LCR 357

The one I have shot was an excellent firearm. My son & I were just talking yesterday and he's wanting one as a secondary back up on his job. (He's LEO)
About the best compromise on light weight, and recoil management so far in the industry.

Its as accurate as any other gun with a 1-7/8" barrel. If i put all five in a four inch circle at 5-7 yards with super hot .357, I am a happy man. Recoil is stout, and I am not recoil shy, but it is certainly manageable.

Had the .38 spl and upgraded to the .357 mag. I am very happy with it and it is my main off duty carry gun. Oh yeah, I am retired now and it is my always carry gun. ;)

How does carry in pocket compare to a J frame?

I don't pocket carry my LCR. I have a paddle holster that I use. I also have a zip bag that was made for a handgun that can be attached to my hunting knapsack. It is perfect for it when I use it for my car gun.

Remember that the trigger guard is much wider then the "J" frame and will not fit in a "J" frame holster for pocket/belt carry!

Pocket carry is my main mode for my .38 Spcl LCR. Compared to my S&W 649 (all stainless steel bodyguard, .38 Spcl). the LCR weighs quite a bit less, has a much better trigger pull, and much better "use them in a hurry" factory sights.

If anyone is interested, I'll trade the S&W 649 as a even swap for another LCR.

I read somewhere that the LCR 357 is larger than the LCR38 but Rugers website says they are the same (except for weight).
