LCP Max Recoil

I didn't care for mine. I bought it for running on the treadmill at the gym. Then I found that running was just fine with my glock 26 with a good iwb holster under a t shirt. I never was confident with a .380. I'm 73, retired from Dallas Police 32 years.

Wife thinking of getting one. How would the recoil of the LCP compare to a Glock 43?

Has she shot the small pistols much? My daughter wanted one so I gifted her a purple LCP. She has a time keeping on target at much further than a few yards due to the size. Even I have to concentrate on my trigger discipline with it to hit where I want.

Recoil isn't a problem.

I never had an issue with recoil in my LCP but I always tell people that there's an art to shooting pocket pistols. Some people like tucking their pinky under the grip but that didn't work for me. I shoot it like I would any other semi auto. You gotta find a technique that works for you.

I think the LCP has less recoil than any of the small 9s like the 43, I didn't realize it at first though. I thought they were about equal until I shot my LCP directly after shooting my EC9s and it really showed me what a pea shooter the LCP is.

I asked my Mrs. this morning, she didn't recall that it kicked much, and that is the thing she would remember, or if it jammed on her. It didn't. Her "normal" pocket/purse carry is an old KelTec P3AT, and she loves that old gat. (but she's GOING to get a new S&W Bodyguard II .380 sooner then she realizes...)
You know, that's maybe a thought, put one of those in your womans hand, see how she likes it? Mine didn't think two craps about it, UNTIL she had one in her mitts, THEN she's all "hey, this feels good!"

But of course, as always, WE know what's "best" for our women, don't we... ;)
